Aug 17, 2009 - i did this on accident too but this works on easy only, kill the 1st boss and die at the same time with 00 lives. you will fall but get up with 99 lives!

Nov 26, 2009 - Great video but I needed to also say there's a gamefaqs guide called: Hard Mode Faq where it describes how you can do it with a tenth fire shot which is much easier to count.

Nov 26, 2009 - Sounds like 10 fire shots to kill the boss only applies with the upgraded fire. Someone else says it's 25 shots with the regular fire to kill the boss.

Dec 31, 2009 - The glitch is caused by gaining an extra life at the same time as losing your last life. The code is irrelevant.
